United Methodist Homes
Excellence in Senior Living

Welcome to the United Methodist Homes of New Jersey!

Global trends have a direct impact on our mission. In fidelity to the original vision, we seize opportunities to meet the needs of a diverse aging population.

Consider this demographic forecast: An estimated five million Americans and their families now cope with Alzheimer’s disease. The number of cases is expected to triple by 2050, among them 10 million baby boomers.

Our first dedicated memory support residence (MSR) for persons with Alzheimer's or other memory impairments opened in 2005 at The Shores, followed in 2009 by the John Ziegler Memory Support Residence at Bristol Glen. An MSR will become operational at Francis Asbury Manor in early July.

With foresight, the board set a goal to explore having an MSR at each of our five full-service communities by 2013. We are now working on an MSR for Pitman Manor. All will help meet the growing demand for services for people with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.

Programming, based on individuals' needs, preferences, and strengths, also promotes dignity and independence. It's about strengthening what currently exists and encouraging skill retention.

Please check our website for the July ribbon cutting date and time at Francis Asbury Manor. In the meantime, contact or drop by a United Methodist Homes community today!

Sincerely yours,

James C. Batten
