Short-term rehabilitation is designed to provide recuperative care for patients who are not able to return home immediately upon discharge from the hospital. The patient may need concentrated rehabilitative therapy following surgery or general strengthening and close medical monitoring and treatment following an illness. Designed for the patient whose medical needs are not as complex as those in a dedicated sub-acute program, the patient recuperates in the skilled nursing residence so that they and their family are comfortable about their return to home.
